Mrs. Annie Mae Thompson Andrews a resident of Ozark, died Tuesday morning, May 8, 2018 at Ozark Health and Rehabilitation. She was 102 years of age.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 12, 2018 in the Westview Memorial Cemetery Chapel with Deacon Bobby Waters officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Memorial Cemetery with Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends Saturday in Westview Memorial Cemetery Chapel from 10:00 A.M. until service time.
Mrs. Andrews was born December 7, 1915 in Coffee County to the late Lamuel Charlie Thompson and Willie Ethel Adams Thompson. Mrs. Andrews was a strong Christian woman. She was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church, taught adult Sunday school, and was a member of the WMU. Her trademark was to make her special pound cake for people on special occasions and in sickness. She loved to cook, make quilts and was an avid fisherwoman.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Emmett Andrews; two sisters Willie Charles Chancey, and Bernice Turner, and one brother James Thompson.
Survivors include one son, Lamar Andrews of Panacea, Fl, and one daughter, Barbara Landruth of Newnan, GA; one sister, Dorothy Roberts of Andalusia; and one brother and sister in law, Harold and Martha Thompson of Ozark; three grandchildren, Brandi Andrews of Monticello, FL, Ashley Scruggs of Alligator Point, FL, and Amy Andrews of Tallahassee, FL; one step-grandson, Pat Landruth of Tallahassee, FL; six great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; a special friend and caregiver, Michelle Waker.
